Freitt.app ("Freitt", "we", "us") is operated by Isaiah Parton, an individual based in British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use Freitt, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have over it.
We are subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of British Columbia.
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a hashed (never plain-text) password. You may optionally upload a profile photo.
Team and operational data
Using the Service generates operational records: load entries (weights, timestamps, status), truck profiles (name, dry weight, photos), field records (name, location, preview images), and buyer records (name, location, rates). This data is created and controlled by you.
Location data
Freitt collects GPS coordinates for fields, buyers, and the origin/destination of each load. When using the map picker, your browser may request your current location — this is optional and handled locally by your browser. Route geometry (the path between two points) is computed by our own self-hosted routing server and stored with each load record.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number or banking details. We store only a Stripe customer ID and a record of payment outcomes (amount, date, plan tier, success/failure).
Technical and usage data
We store session tokens to keep you logged in, and timestamps such as account creation date and last online time. Our servers may log standard request metadata (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and diagnostics. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not send marketing emails, sell your data to third parties, or use your data for advertising.
Freitt uses the following third-party services that may process your data as part of delivering the Service:
Stripe
Used for payment processing and subscription management. When you subscribe, your browser communicates directly with Stripe. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant and operates under its own privacy policy.
Resend
Used to deliver transactional emails (e.g. verification codes, subscription notifications). Your email address is passed to Resend solely for the purpose of sending these messages. Resend operates under its own privacy policy.
MapTiler
Used to render map tiles in the location picker. When you open a map view, your browser fetches tile images directly from MapTiler's servers, which may log your IP address. No personal data beyond what is typical of a CDN request is shared. MapTiler operates under its own privacy policy.
Route calculations are performed by a self-hosted OSRM instance. No location data is sent to external routing services.
We retain your account and operational data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as payment records required for tax compliance).
Server access logs are retained for a maximum of 90 days and then deleted.
We use industry-standard practices to protect your information: passwords are hashed before storage, connections are encrypted via HTTPS, and access to production systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
In the event of a data breach that poses a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by PIPEDA.
Under PIPEDA and PIPA (BC), you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
Freitt is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date above. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
